Precautions & Appointments due to COVID-19

We are following the protocols of the Responsible RestartOhio program outlined by Governor Dewine. As you prepare for your upcoming appointment at Mayfield, we want you to know about the precautions we are taking to protect your health as well as that of our staff and physicians. We're all in this together — to slow the spread of COVID-19 as we resume "normal" business.

We currently offer three types of appointments: in-person visits, phone visits, and video visits.

  • For the health and safety of patients and staff, patients are permitted to bring only one person with them to the appointment.
  • Please keep 6-feet apart from others during your visit.
  • Everyone should bring/wear a face mask. A homemade mask is fine as long as it covers your nose and mouth.
  • Patients who are unable to wear a mask cannot be seen in our office at this time. We would be happy to reschedule the appointment as a video visit, if you prefer.
  • No one under 16 is permitted.

Health Check Stations

Everyone (patients, staff and physicians) will have their temperatures taken before entering our office. Those with a temperature above 100.4 may not enter. Check your temperature at home before you come.

Masks & Sanitizing

Wear your own face mask when coming to our office for an in-person appointment. A homemade mask is fine.

Our exam rooms are sanitized after each patient visit, and all high-touch areas in our offices are sanitized multiple times a day.

Hand washing is very effective against viruses. You may be asked to wash your hands before and after your visit.

Reschedule if Sick or Exposed

If you, or anyone you have been around, have had a fever, shortness of breath, or dry cough, you must reschedule your appointment. Please stay home and quarantine for 14 days. We will not charge you for cancelling your appointment.

We offer telephone appointments to new and existing patients who prefer not to come into the office and are uncomfortable with telehealth video technology or are unable to obtain reliable internet access.

We offer video visits (Telehealth) through the (doc see me) telehealth system. Telehealth involves the use of secure video technology to care for patients remotely. The live two-way video visit may be used for diagnosis, review of medical images, or follow-up. Below is information about how Doxy works, how to check in, and the benefits / limitations of a telehealth visit. To ensure your smartphone and Internet connection are optimal, you can run a test at .

How Doxy Works

The day of your telehealth appointment, the medical assistant will call you about 30 minutes or so before to verify you are using a smartphone and ask some details about your condition. They will then send you a text message with a link to join the provider's waiting room.

No need to download software or create an account. Just use a browser on a smartphone or computer with a camera and microphone. Once you are checked in, the care provider will start the video call and you will speak face-to-face. adheres to HIPAA and GDPR data privacy requirements. The connection is private and secure. All data is encrypted, your sessions are not recorded, and none of your information is stored in Doxy.

Physical Therapy Appointments

Mayfield Physical Therapy offices are currently open with limited hours at all three Mayfield locations. We are primarily serving patients referred to us by Mayfield providers.

Like most organizations, we are operating with a limited staff at this time. If you are a patient who has a question or concern, please email us at One of our staff will contact you as soon as we can, but no later than one business day after your call. If your issue is urgent or life threatening, please call 911.

If you have to reschedule an appointment that has been cancelled, please wait for our office to call you. We anticipate extremely high call volumes and do not want you to be inconvenienced with a long wait. We are planning to coordinate a virtual appointment for post-operative patients as well throughout this period.

We will do our best to answer your questions and concerns. We appreciate your cooperation and hope that you and your family can remain safe and healthy during this challenging time.
